The Mob Museum will take you through their ties to Las Vegas and much more. With convenient hours of 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., you will journey into the history of the Mob in Las Vegas and America. Location and Accessibility
The Mob Museum is near Fremont Street at 300 Stewart Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89101. The museum has parking next door for $8 per hour, but parking is limited. If parking is not available, you can park at nearby casinos like Downtown Grand or Main Street Station.
One feature that takes you back to the Prohibition era is "The Underground." It is an immersive speakeasy and distillery, and it is open from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. It lets you recount the 1920s and enjoy a drink or two while experiencing the museum.
A Walk Through History
The Mob Museum immerses you in the history of the mob. On the first floor of the building, they have an exhibit called "100 Years of Made Men." This exhibit will give the names and faces of the most important mobsters from the time. Find out who the "Cocaine Grandmother" is. "Bringing Down the Mob" takes you on a journey with the FBI as they take the mob down. Listen to recordings of mobsters taken by the FBI and see the evidence of what they had and did to infiltrate the mob. Even get to experience a firearms training simulator for those over 13 and must be with a parent or guardian if 16 or under.
The Second Floor has a historic courtroom, the first Las Vegas post office, and a courthouse, so you will be in a spot where mob hearings were held. Another exhibit, "Open City," explores Bugsy Seigal and The Flamingo Hotel. See the history behind a famous hotel still standing today. "Mob's Greatest Hits" recounts the murders in the history of the mob with weapons and other artifacts, so this is a must-see.
The third floor has "A Tough Little Town," which explores the early days of Las Vegas and its connections with the mob. It also has "The Birth of the Mob," which explores how the mob came to be and its beginnings. Very interesting, with many artifacts and historical pieces to see. Each floor has so much more than described here, but this is just a taste of what you get on each floor.
The Underground is a speakeasy bar with its password. You can find the password on the website to be able to enter. The hours are Monday-Wednesday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Thursday and Friday, 11 a.m. to 12 a.m., while Saturday is 12 p.m. to 12 a.m. Check out their specials, or try the Bee's Knees specialty cocktail and step back into the 1920s. They have cocktails, wines, whiskey, and a selection of draft beers. You can have a drink or grab a bite with their sharable menu. It is an authentic experience that separates it from your ordinary museum, and it's Vegas!
